Why do you have so many bulls? Well, because each one has a specific job for a specific cow to make excellence in the next generation, no matter what you are starting with! I am PASSIONATE about breeding functional milk cows for small dairies and homesteads. You can never buy a cow that compares to one you breed and rear on your own farm. Most cows are one good bull selection away from an outstanding offspring that will change the trajectory of the farm that animal is served by and serves. Way too much value is being thrown in the trash heap and traded like degrading baseball cards. Cows are not iPhones. They are not for trading. They are for stewarding well generationally to rebuild a rural economy that is the last bulwark against malnutrition and chaos. These are not light choices. Stewarding well must include breeding well if we are going to be rewarded for our efforts. So let’s get on with breeding up!
